Meet Christina Shields
My name is Christina Shields and I am the owner of Renewal Spa & Esthetics here in Yakima, Wa. I grew up in the Tri-Cities most of my life, until moving to Yakima in 2001.
In April of 2015, I graduated from Victoria’s Academy of Cosmetology and Esthetics. I became a Master Esthetician with the additional education provided by NIMA, The National Institute of Medical Aesthetics and passed all state boards to become certified.
I am NCEA Certified, by the National Coalition of Esthetician’s Association, helping Estheticians raise standards with national credentialing and continuing education accreditation.
I am by appointment only to give each of my clients the fullest benefit of a spa setting.
My History
As a mother of three & stepmother to two, most of my career has been focused on being a stay-at-home mother raising my children all the while working on a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
I graduated with an Associates of Arts from Yakima Valley Community College and completed one year of my Bachelor’s.
After having my daughter (second child), I took some more time off to focus on motherhood and determine if Criminal Justice would be my true calling.
This was something that really had me thinking long and hard in regards to which direction my education, my life and my career would take me.
It wasn’t until later in my 30’s that I began to develop some skin care issues, hormonally related, that would ultimately begin my process of getting my education in Esthetics. Finally, not only was I going to learn about my skin, I was going to be able to teach others as well!
In 2015, I took over Renewal Day Spa that was previously owned by a known local and have only since changed the name to Renewal Spa & Esthetics.
After taking a two and a half year break traveling, kids, school sports, and building our dream home, I’m back to offer the community some of the latest and greatest skincare treatments, along with introducing even more advanced esthetic treatments, that are COMPLETE GAME CHANGERS to your everyday spa finds.
